Berkeley SA492 with a Honda CB400 engine. Neat!
Alright Opponauts today your challenge is to find a car, doesn’t have to be in running condition, that you would fully intend to engine swap. You don’t have a budget for the initial purchase of the car, but try to be a little realistic please. The car doesn’t necessarily have to be for sale on Craigslist. I just like the sound of “Craigslist Challenge”. Bonus points for posting what kind of engine you intend to swap in. For example:
1980 Triumph TR8, with a 2JZ-GTE, for shits and giggles.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Also, if you intend to modify the engine be specific as possible with your modifications. For example: 2JZ-GTE with a HKS intercooler and HKS cams. Bonus points if you don’t choose a 240SX with a LS.
Have fun!

While not exactly a “Craigslist challenge”, I hope to have a LQ9 6.0L in the Firechicken next year.

Take a higher-mileage AP1 S2000, like this one
http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/cto/5832380485.html
Find early K24A2 or K24A4, replace head with K20A2 (RSX-S/Euro EP3-R) head
Buy K2F adapter kit
Do turbo K build. 55ish mm turbo, upgraded cams/valves/injectors/etc, lower compression pistons, forged everything, refreshed components. AP2 transmission (longer gears) with upgraded driveshafts and rear diff. Front-mount intercooler, custom 3" single-exit exhaust. Non-engine mods would include carbon fiber hood and trunk, Volk TE37SLs (stock wheels in the winter), and a repaint.
(I may have already thought of this build in the past)

I have an unassembled kit car with many Renault parts and some a piece of fiberglass with Made in Norfolk on it. ;) I have a post about it from about a year ago.

I’d keep mine n/a, much less radical. provided that I can find a reasonable way to mate a 13b with the renault 5-speed box.

Such tiny restrictors...those would have to go.

how about finding the most outrageous engine swap that’s already done?

I’m saving that for another post.

I would find something better than a Renault box. We debated trying to find a Hewland but at the cost of the car was a little ridiculous. I do have some spare Europa parts if your looking. We also have a Twin-Cam engine.

The best part of the 395 is the fact I already have it haha.

My dream get a Renault Dauphine and put a PRV 3.0L v6 with a 4 barrel carb. in it. The goal is it will be like a 4 door Alpine A310 with 1950s styling. http://boise.craigslist.org/cto/5821945264.html

I’m sorry I don’t want one either V8 maintenance is too high for me :(. I’d rather have an Audi anyways.
